How about pests like ticks? Rustic moth caterpillars? Wasps?
Rustic moth caterpillars are hibernating, wasps and other bees are gone with the lower temperatures.
The only concern may be ticks. However, they do not even create a true threat because nothing is attracting ticks to the leaf piles.
Deer ticks that may carry Lyme disease could be found where your yard meets the woods.

Fall is here and it is beautiful to watch leaves turn into different colors like yellow, orange and red.
However, as leaves fall off the tree and onto our yard and turn into a big play ground for kids of all ages.
It is still sunny and warm during the day so we rake and play together with our kids in leave piles.

If you are concerned about ticks, rake leaves in temperatures below 40 degrees.
Ticks hibernate in temperatures below 40 degrees, so your leaf piles may already be tick-free.
If you’re still on the fence, stay away from the interface between your yard and the woods.
If you still feel uncomfortable and want to be tick free during all four seasons.
Have environmental friendly pest control treat outside of your home.
