House mice

House mice

This time of year in Columbus, Ohio the phone calls coming into the office are generally homeowners who have found mouse droppings and in some cases actually seeing the mice roaming their homes.  This is a great time to take measure to prevent this from happening in your homes. Below are a few times to keep the mice out of your family home.

1) Seal entrances with metal flashing or heavy mesh and install door sweeps.

2) Do not allow leaf and yard debris to collect in piles.   Compost piles needs to be moved away from the house and keep weeds and brush cutback.
4) Clean all the clutter that could make housing for a mouse, pay particular attention to straw and paper.

5) Store pet food in metal or hard plastic containers that can resist gnawing.
