Albino roaches found in Columbus Ohio

Have you seen a cockroaches that is completely white?
Is there such thing thing as albino cockroaches? Is this a new breed of cockroaches?
If you encountered white cockroaches you are seeing cockroach out growing it’s exoskeleton and breaking through exterior shell.

According to EnviroCare Pest Solution, “Albino cockroach is not rare but every cockroach goes through this process.”
As matter of fact Albino cockroach will darken it’s color within a few hours of discovery. Every cockroach will go through shedding process called molting to grow. When a cockroach molts, the new exoskeleton is usually white or cream-colored. As the new exoskeleton hardens, it darkens until it finally looks like all of the other cockroaches of that species. After molting, cockroach is vulnerable until the new exoskeleton hardens.
This is why cockroaches usually molt in dark hiding places and we do not see white cockroaches.

The roach emerges and its skin is totally white with the exception of its eyes. If you think you have come across something very unusual and capture the white or albino roach to show off, you may find out that the roach is brown or black within a few hours.

The researchers say that bed bugs will become as common as the cockroach. Coby Schal, a professor of entomology at North Carolina State University. “Bed bugs are what cockroaches were several decades ago and it is a concern.”

An average of 8 insect parts are found in a chocolate bar and deemed safe, according to the FDA’s guidelines.

“Most foods have natural contaminants in them, but there are levels which the FDA deems safe,” said allergist Dr. Morton M. Teich. “Anything more than 60 insect pieces per 100 grams of chocolate is rejected by the FDA. ”

Trace amounts of insect parts that are ground into the food and can affect people with allergies and asthma. Some side effects include migraines, cramps, itching or hives.
